Arzakan Hot Springs (Arzakan Mineral Pool) are located in the village of Arzakan in the Kotayk region, about a 30-minute drive from Yerevan, near the Hrazdan River. The village lies at an altitude of 1,800–1,900 meters and is surrounded by forested slopes and the Zakhpunyats Ridge.
These are thermal mineral spring pools, also known as Tak jur, with water temperatures ranging between 40–50°C. The mineral waters are believed to be beneficial for skin conditions, muscle pain, nervous disorders, and circulatory issues. Locals believe they have both healing and relaxing effects.
Some pools offer restaurant or café services, and if you’re planning to visit, be sure to bring a swimsuit, towel, and maybe a small snack. Nestled in forested terrain, the springs are perfect for day trips or simply for gentle relaxation. The warm waters can be enjoyed year-round, offering comfort even during the cooler seasons.
Arzakhan hot springs are a great place to relax, but getting there and choosing the right spot can be confusing for first-time visitors.
Many travelers prefer to visit as part of a private tour, combining the hot springs with Tsaghkadzor or other nearby destinations for a full-day experience.
