1. Our guide can meet you either at the airport or in the city center, and your first stop will be the Cascade. Cascade Complex — stop at one of Yerevan’s best-known landmarks for panoramic city views and a quick introduction to the capital’s architecture.
2. Next, the route leads to the Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theater, which is another wonder of Armenian architecture. It has a round shape with two concert halls.
3. After that, we will visit the famous Northern Avenue. It is a modern pedestrian street and one of the most favorite places for tourists, street musicians, and artists, because this avenue connects the two main squares of the city. Here you can visit shops and also try Armenian and international dishes in the cafes along the entire street.
4. From there, we will visit Republic Square — see the heart of central Yerevan, surrounded by its distinctive pink-tuff buildings.
5. And finally, we will go to the open-air market Vernissage, where you will find exclusive Armenian handmade masterpieces, souvenirs, and works of art. This is an open-air fair in the city center where you can buy gifts both for yourself and for your family and friends.
6. Prefer historical sites outside the city? For a longer layover, Holy City of Etchmiadzin and Zvartnots ruins may be a convenient alternative because they are located relatively close to the airport.
The amount of sightseeing possible depends on the total time between your flights, passport and baggage formalities, traffic conditions and how early you need to return to the airport. A longer connection gives you more flexibility, while shorter layovers require a compact route focused on central Yerevan.
