The Yerevan History Museum was founded in 1931. Since 2005, it has been located in the modern building of the Yerevan City Hall, which forms a unified architectural complex designed by architect Jim Torosyan.

Today, the museum’s collection includes over 94,000 exhibits, representing both the material and spiritual culture of the Armenian capital — from ancient times to the present day.

The museum’s collections cover a wide range of fields: archaeology, ethnography, numismatics, fine arts, documentary archives, and photography, among others. Together, they illustrate the rich history of Yerevan and the daily life of its people through the centuries.
