1. Our first stop is Dilijan. Dilijan, often referred to as the Armenian Switzerland, is famous for its lush forests, fresh mountain air, and cool climate. The town is also known for its unique blend of traditional Armenian architecture and natural surroundings, with cozy guesthouses and a beautifully preserved historical quarter.
2. The next stop is Dilijan National Park, established in 1958, covering an area of 34,000 hectares, with about 94 percent of its territory covered by forest. During the tour, you will walk through nature and have the chance to feed the deer.
3. One of the highlights of Dilijan National Park is Lake Parz – meaning “Clear Lake.” It’s located in the northeastern part of the park, at an altitude of 1,400 meters. It’s an ideal place to relax, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, or even take part in activities like zip-lining or boating.
4. The final stop is Goshavank, a medieval monastery built in the 12th-13th centuries by the Armenian scholar and writer Mkhitar Gosh. He played a major role in founding the monastery and later turned it into a school during the final years of his life. Goshavanq became not only a religious center but also one of the key cultural and educational institutions of medieval Armenia. The monastery is modest in its interior, not known for frescoes, but for its numerous inscriptions left by travelers and pilgrims over the centuries.

Arrive in Dilijan - often called the Armenian Switzerland for its lush forests, clean mountain air and cool climate. Walk through the restored Old Dilijan quarter on Sharambeyan Street with its beautifully preserved 19th-century wooden houses, artisan workshops, local craft shops and cozy cafes. A genuinely charming town that rewards slow exploration.
Enter the national park, established in 1958 and covering 34,000 hectares - 94% of which is covered by ancient forest of oak, beech and hornbeam. Walk the forest trails with your guide and have the rare opportunity to feed deer in their natural habitat. One of the most peaceful and genuinely wild nature experiences available on a day trip from Yerevan.
A short walk through the forest brings you to Parz Lake - meaning Clear Lake - a small, perfectly transparent mountain lake at 1,400 meters altitude. Surrounded entirely by dense woodland, this is one of the most serene spots in Armenia. Optional boat hire is available on the lake. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.

Drive to the village of Gosh and visit the magnificent 12th-century Goshavank Monastery, founded by Mkhitar Gosh - Armenia's most celebrated medieval scholar, writer of fables and author of the country's first criminal code. The monastery became one of the most important educational and cultural centers of medieval Armenia and houses one of the finest khachkars in existence, carved by master Poghos in 1291.
