Our tour to Manukyan Winery, Lake Sevan, Mikayelyan Farm, and Hayravank is ideal for culinary enthusiasts who also want to enjoy scenic views and learn about Armenian history. All these sites are located in the Gegharkunik region, and the first stop is about 1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive from Yerevan. The tour lasts around 6 to 7 hours, after which we return to Yerevan.
1. The first stop is a wine tasting and excursion at Manukyan Winery. Manukyan Winery began wine production in 2016, with the goal of creating high-quality wines using local grapes, European technology, and the latest methodologies. What makes their wines unique is the careful selection of grape varieties and their distinct character. During the excursion, you’ll taste several wines that highlight the territory and grape type – for example, some grape varieties can be identified from the very first sip.
2. The next stop is Lake Sevan, the largest natural lake in Armenia. Here, you’ll have a chance to visit the Sevan Peninsula and Sevanavank Monastery, founded in the 9th century. Lake Sevan covers a surface area of 5,000 square km, with a maximum length of 74 km and maximum width of 32 km.
3. The next experience is cheese tasting at Mikayelyan Family Farm, where you’ll witness the traditional Armenian cheese-making process, watch artisans at work, and enjoy various cheese types served with fresh local greens and herbs.
4. Then we’ll make a short stop at Hayravank Monastery, located on the shore of Lake Sevan. This medieval monastery stands next to the ruins of a Cyclopean fortress, the remains of which are still visible from the site.
This culinary day trip offers a chance to experience Armenian cuisine in a relaxed and authentic setting. You will taste local dishes, learn about food traditions and enjoy the atmosphere of Lake Sevan, all in one carefully planned day.

Your private driver and guide meet you at your hotel in Yerevan. This is a slow travel day - no rushing between monuments, just food, people and the landscape of Armenia at its most generous.
First stop at the Manukyan family winery on the shores of Lake Sevan — a small, personal operation where wine has been made for generations using traditional Armenian methods. Tour the cellar, hear the family story and taste their wines alongside local cheeses and preserved fruits.
Experience the ancient art of lavash making - Armenia's thin flatbread baked on the inner walls of a clay tonir oven, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. You will have the chance to try baking it yourself.
A full lakeside lunch built around the star ingredient of Lake Sevan - ishkhan trout, caught fresh from one of the world's largest high-altitude lakes. Accompanied by local salads, herbs, pickles and bread still warm from the tonir.
After lunch, a short walk up to the 9th-century Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula - where the views of the lake are as nourishing as the meal below.
Walk the shore, buy local honey or dried fruits from roadside vendors, or simply sit by the water before heading back.
